Fast X
Tenth Fast & Furious film where cars defy physics and family conquers everything
The brief
Fast X feels like watching a fever dream where physics died and someone cranked the absurdity dial to 11 - cars launch through space, buildings explode for no reason, and Vin Diesel delivers every line like he's reading his own eulogy. The action sequences are genuinely spectacular in their complete rejection of reality, but at nearly 2.5 hours, it drags harder than a parachute-deployed Dodge Charger. Jason Momoa chews scenery as the villain with the energy of a Saturday morning cartoon character who found Dom's family photos and decided to make it weird. Perfect if you've already accepted that this franchise stopped being about street racing around the time they drove a car between skyscrapers and just want to see how much further they can push it.
The verdict
If you've surrendered to this franchise's complete abandonment of physics and just want to watch spectacular chaos with Jason Momoa hamming it up as a delightfully unhinged villain, this delivers exactly the over-the-top spectacle you're craving. If you need coherent plotting, realistic action, or have any remaining attachment to the series' street racing roots, you'll find this bloated and exhaustingly absurd.
