The brief
The perfect redemption after Temple of Doom's missteps, Last Crusade brings back everything that made Raiders magical while adding Sean Connery as Indy's cranky academic father. Their bickering father-son dynamic is absolutely delicious, with Connery stealing scenes left and right as he calls Harrison Ford "Junior" and gets them into constant trouble. Spielberg delivers the series' best action sequences (that tank chase is insane) while keeping the tone lighter and more adventure-focused than apocalyptic. If you want Raiders-level thrills with genuine heart and the best chemistry between leads in any action movie, this is your jam.

The verdict
If you love classic adventure films with perfect father-son chemistry and want Raiders-quality action with Sean Connery stealing every scene, this is an absolute must-watch that redeems the entire franchise. If you need groundbreaking storytelling or can't handle familiar Indiana Jones formula even when executed brilliantly, you might find it too safe despite the stellar performances.
