Just Go with It
The brief
This bloated rom-com feels like watching Sandler sleepwalk through a vacation he's filming for tax purposes, with Jennifer Aniston gamely trying to inject some actual charm into increasingly ridiculous lie-upon-lie scenarios. The Hawaiian setting looks gorgeous but can't disguise that you're essentially watching a sitcom pilot stretched to two painful hours, complete with Nicole Kidman doing an inexplicable British accent. Sandler and Aniston have decent chemistry when the script isn't forcing them into cringe-worthy situations involving fake families and elaborate deceptions. Perfect if you're nostalgic for early 2010s Netflix-and-chill comedies or need something aggressively inoffensive playing in the background.
The verdict
If you're looking for mindless comfort food comedy with tropical scenery and don't mind watching Adam Sandler coast through familiar territory, this delivers exactly what you'd expect from a lazy Sunday Netflix binge. If you want sharp writing or can't tolerate cringe humor built on increasingly absurd lies, you'll find this painfully overlong and aggressively mediocre.
